Abiquiu/Ghost Ranch/Santa Fe, NM - June 11 - 15

Join us as we paint in Georgia O'Keefe's backyard - in the incomparable Ghost Ranch and Abiquiu area. This location offers 360-degrees of inspiration, with fantastic multi-hued mountains, winding rivers and vast shimmering lakes set in a sun-drenched desert locale. This is the very definition of a plein air painting workshop! If you love to paint outdoors in a gorgeous setting and appreciate the rewards that come with a good artistic challenge, then this workshop is for you. Mid-week we drive down to Santa Fe to visit the Georgia O'Keefe museum and the galleries in the Canyon Road area.

SKB Foundation, Dubois, Wyoming
September 16 - 21

The Susan K. Black Foundation watercolor and pastel workshop takes place at the Foundation property near beautiful Dubois, Wyoming, a real western town full of cowboys and ranchers, some of whom will pose for us in their cowboy garb. These popular workshops have been held at the Foundation for 10 years, and have featured some of the top painting instructors in oil, watercolor and pastel. We are honored to have been selected as lead instructors in watercolor and pastel this year. We will be teaching both inside and out - plein air landscape in the magnificent mountain surroundings and also studio watercolors indoors in their professionally-equipped studio space. There is something for everyone. Enrollment is through the Foundation directly, not at The Artist's Road. Contact: The Susan K. Black Foundation.

Charleston, SC - October 22 - 26
Charleston is perhaps the loveliest little city in the U.S.  With its human-scaled antebellum houses and its many steepled churches dominating the skyline, it has all the look and feel of a small European town. We will paint in the historic downtown area which is filled with restored pre-civil war era grand houses and mansions, gardens and intriguing narrow side streets lined with palm trees, flowers and other tropical delights. You'll also find horse-drawn carriages and harbor-side parks filled with huge Live Oaks draped with Spanish Moss, and lots of boats and other marine scenery to paint.  The world-class food in Charleston is part of the attraction as well, so bring your appetite!
