Icebound - Perspectives from The Artist's Road

Perspectives from The Artist's Road

Frozen Lake, Early Spring - Algonquin Park          1914          A. Y. Jackson

Although we've been teased with a few warm days, winter reminds us that it hasn't finished its job. The warm days encouraged us to get outside and to break out our plein air gear, but a storm which left an ice covering everything and pushing temperatures down into the teens, dulled our hopes for an early spring this year, reminding us that nature is still in charge and has a few surprises in store for us yet.

To that end, we decided to embrace the beauty of the frozen landscape and create this short slide show of some of our favorite frozen paintings. We hope you enjoy it!
