The day after we had been to see the monumental Sorolla mural, Visions of Spain, at the Hispanic Society of America in New York, we found a little bookstore specializing in books about art. One of the several books we just had to have is a gorgeous landscape-format Rizzoli book about the murals displayed here, there and everywhere in the city, including Sorolla’s Visions of Spain. There is so much visual culture on display in New York that it would take years to see it all—even if you knew where to look. Knowing where to look is the subject of this new book about the famous and not-so-famous murals of New York. It is authored by Glenn Palmer-Smith with terrific photos by Joshua Mc Hugh.
