“Color is everything, color is vibration like music; everything is vibration.”
- Marc Chagall
We are in Rocky Mountain National Park teaching a painting workshop with a wonderful new group of students. The glorious aspen and cottonwood trees are showing off their golden leaves providing nice color contrasts to the deep greens of the conifer covered mountain slopes. The stream sides also come alive in the fall as the cottonwoods and alders decorate the banks with shades of bright yellow, orange and russet. Crisp mornings with cool, misty light contrast with the strong warm light and cool shadows of the afternoon, allowing for a variety of painting situations. We have selected some great locations for the class to paint each day to take advantage of the September light and the inspiring views.
