Without imagination there can be no art—it is the essential first step to the making of anything new. If artists are often stereotyped as being too dreamy or impractical about the business of living it may be because the job requires spending lots of time in our heads imagining a world not yet extant. We are comfortable there—even joyous. As John O’Donohue pointed out, there are no limits on us there.
