I have been painting water lately for an upcoming exhibition and writing about water for an upcoming article. The article is about a painting trip to Venice. It has been a delight to relive the trip while sorting through the 600+ photographs in order to make a 4-minute slide show. It includes views of the Lido, Burano - the lace-making island, Murano for glass, and Chioggia - “Little Venice”, for the quiet fishing village ambiance.
From the moment one arrives in Venice, travel is by boat or foot. Water is almost always in view, even deep in the central neighborhoods, as Venice is not one place, but is made up of over 117 islands connected mostly by short, arched bridges.
