Marjorie Hicks has had "a keen interest in the arts" her entire life. At times, that was in the form of immersing herself in art books and keeping a sketchbook, but, after her three daughters were grown, she was able to take the plunge and work full-time on her painting. Since then her light-filled work has been juried into prestigious exhibitions and plein air events. She has won multiple awards and attained Signature Membership in the American Impressionist Society. She shares her skills and painting philosophy with students and is also a generous donor of her work to non-profit foundations. She wrote to us about her evolution as an artist, her processes and her inspirations.
